Do you feel like you’re ever too hard on yourself? Maybe you think you work too hard, maybe you’re under too much stress – probably both.
I feel like a lot of women feel this way. We’re too hard on ourselves, which can be a good thing sometimes. But sometimes we just need a break.
Doing small, easy things to treat yourself or practice self-care can help take some of the edge off. Especially after a particularly long or stressful day.
So today I thought I’d share 5 simple ways you can treat yourself after a long day!
1. Get lost in a book (or something else)
A great way to take your mind off of the stresses of life is to get lost in another world. So pick out a good book (suggestions here), binge-watch your favorite show on Netflix, catch up with your favorite YouTube channels, or go see a movie. Movie marathons with your significant other and/or best friend are the best!
2. Spend time on your favorite hobby or passion project
One of my favorite ways to relax is to work on one of my hobbies. For me, that’s usually crochet, art, candle making, or reading. Of course, your hobbies are probably different but spend time doing something that makes you happy and your stressful mood will definitely fade.
3. Have an at-home spa night
Pampering yourself can help you relax and show yourself some TLC. You don’t even have to go to a spa, either because you can totally create your own little spa at home. Light some candles, drink some wine or tea, give yourself a mani/pedi, apply a hair mask and face mask, take a bubble bath, and relax.
4. Write in your journal (or start one)
Journaling is one of my favorite things. There are so many things you can do with journals and all of them help put you in a good mood. You could write a gratitude list, use it as a creative outlet, gain clarity about a problem you’re having, or just vent out your icky feelings. Journaling can also give you a new perspective about things and just help you grow as a person.
5. Cut yourself a break with something
It’s okay to be lazy with things once in a while. So cut yourself a break. For you, this could mean hiring a babysitter for the night, not doing your nightly workout, sitting on the couch instead of doing your regular chores, or not making dinner for the night.
I love treating myself to Tai Pei frozen entrées. I love Asian food and I love rice, which is included in their entrées. Their dishes are easy to make and super delicious – no cooking for the night! Their new packaging makes them so simple to prepare in a microwave.
I love Tai Pei for so many reasons. One, like I said, I LOVE Asian food. Two, they have so many great dishes to choose from – sometimes it’s hard to decide! And three, they use real, high-quality ingredients. No preservatives, artificial ingredients, or any of that bad stuff. They’re all pure!
My favorite dish is either their orange chicken or their General Tso’s spicy chicken. I’m honestly so picky when it comes to frozen foods but Tai Pei tastes so fresh and real. Not like a frozen entrée at all. If you want to treat yourself to Tai Pei, I have a coupon you can use!
