So it’s a new month. Wow, right? I know I said this last month, but I cannot believe it’s already September now! Haha. 🙂 August was a pretty good month for me. Some cool things happened, but nothing huge. I did pretty okay with my goals, as you’ll see in a moment.
I tried to take my Fiverr side-hustle seriously and I made $144 in my first full month with it! Nothing huge, but it’s a pretty sweet side hustle and I’m hoping to earn even more this month. I’ll try to remember to keep you guys updated on it. I also got my second post up on Lifehack.
And now… I’ve been getting emails about this and I thought I’d address it here. I don’t get too personal with this blog because I’m honestly pretty shy and self-conscious. Social anxiety and whatnot. But that’s something that I want to change! I want you guys to get glimpses of my life and who I am and get to know the real me – outside of all of these self-help posts. So I’m going to start sharing things with you (that’s actually one of my September goals!)
So something going on in real life? I found out in August that my husband and I might be moving to a new town in the near future. I’m hoping that we get to soon because honestly, I love this town but I’m so excited to move somewhere new. Kind of a fresh start, you know? Speaking of my husband, here’s a picture from our wedding so y’all can see us…
So yeah. I also finally got to cross some stuff off of our couple bucket list for the summer. Like going to a circus. We’re still children at heart so that was pretty fun. 😀 Anyhow…
Let’s take a look at last month’s goals first:
1. Complete + launch my email challenge.
This didn’t happen. I got some work done on it, but I got kind of sidetracked with another freebie for my newsletter subscribers. I did complete the freebie I was working on though, so that sort of counts – right? 🙂 I’ll be sharing it with y’all in about a week or so!
2. Read 3 books.
Got this one done! The books I read were All the Summer Girls – pretty good book, Build Your Author Platform, – a helpful book for writers to grow their audience, and Thank & Grow Rich – read my review here!
3. Jog daily.
This didn’t happen either… I would say I jogged about half of the days maybe? Yeah, didn’t get this done. Moving it to this month’s goals. 😛
4. Increase traffic.
Got this one done! I’m so happy about it too. In July, I got a little over 15,000 page views and I thought it was insane. In August, I got 93,479 page views. I can hardly believe it! I’m so happy though, and I plan on doing a post about one thing that helped me achieve this growth in the near future. 😀
5. Reach first online income goal.
So I reached my first little milestone of an online income goal in August. It wasn’t anything huge, but I’m still proud of myself for it because I worked hard and I’m grateful for the opportunities I had and I hope I have more to come!
And this month’s blog + life goals:
1. Put more of my personality into the blog.
As I said above, I’d like to get over my fear and put myself “out there” more. I know that I enjoy and relate to blogs more when I get a little glimpse behind the scenes of the blogger. It helps me connect more. And I’ve received emails from people with questions – some people seem sort of interested in who I am. Sometimes, in my posts, I think I make myself seem kind of more put-together than I am in real life and you don’t get to know the real me. So yeah, this is a goal this month. 🙂 It’s honestly pretty nerve-racking for me, though.
2. Write 10,000 words.
So I haven’t mentioned this to you guys, but I’m writing a book. I sort of put it on the back burner during the month of August because I wanted to change directions of my original plan for it. This month, I’d like to redo the outline and write at least 10,000 words of it. I’ve just got a lot of client work to do too. I’m focusing more on the quality of it, though, so I don’t mind if it takes me a while.
3. Jog five days a week.
I slacked with this goal last month. So I thought I’d change it to 5 days a week and make it a goal this month, haha.
4. Stick to an editorial calendar + schedule.
So I’ve been trying to stick with this for a while and I’m determined to do it this month! I want to start planning my content way ahead of time and stick to more of a blogging schedule. I want to post 3 times a week (Monday, Wednesday, and Friday) and then send out my newsletter every Tuesday.
5. Reach my next online income goal.
In August, I reached my first online income goal and this month I’d like to reach my second one. My ultimate goal is to be able to make a steady, full-time income off of this blog and my freelance writing. I want to work from home since my husband and I plan on having kids in the near future and I’d like to be able to stay home with them.
6. Read 3 more books.
I want to read at least 3 more books this month because not only do I have about 348398 books on my to-read list, but I also have about 5 books that I need to read and review from Netgalley. 😛
7. Do some things from this fall bucket list.
So I came across this fall bucket list on Pinterest and it got me so excited for fall. 😀 I want to do at least like 3 things from this list towards late September. I’ll share pics and stuff of it with you next month! (Source)
So there are my blog and life goals for September! Feel free to share any of your goals in the comments. I’d love to see what you guys are up to! 😀
