A couple of years ago, before I started this blog, I sort of let myself go – physically and mentally. I stopped caring about myself and so, in a sense, I stopped taking care of myself. I’m not proud of it, but when you’re struggling with mental illness and can’t climb out of it, it’s hard.
I slowly started to turn myself around but I recently decided that it’s time to make some BIG changes. It’s time to live healthier and happier.
Today I thought I’d share how I’ve been changing my lifestyle and living healthier in body and mind!
– I started a workout plan.
You don’t need me to tell you how important exercise is – not just for our physical health, but for our mental health too. So, I made it a point to workout 4 times a week. I figured out what exercises work for me and I do a few different things.
I love jogging or going for walks. I also do my video workouts and various YouTube workouts.
– I started prioritizing self-care.
Self-care is so important to our physical health, mental health, and our self-esteem. When you aren’t taking the time to look after yourself and your well-being, you’re telling yourself that you’re not important.
Taking time out of your schedule to spend on your wants and needs can help you relax and be a healthier person overall. And as you know, you can’t take care of everyone else if you’re not taking care of yourself too.
– I started improving my diet.
I used to have a big problem with eating out too much, but not anymore! I still have date nights with the hubs, but that’s it. I make sure to eat breakfast, I make myself a healthy lunch during the day, and I cook nutritious dinners at home.
I also keep healthy snacks handy, and my big water bottle is always full of water. When I started making sure I was drinking enough water, I was tracking my water intake in my journal. It’s a helpful way to kick start your water drinking habit!
– I started taking Renew Life Ultimate Flora Probiotics.

Okay, so this wasn’t THAT recent; I started setting goals about 2 years ago. But it’s the biggest thing that’s helped turn my life around. Setting goals can literally help you achieve anything you want!
I basically just set goals at the beginning of every year and month, then break them into daily to-dos. This has helped me achieve so much that I’ve wanted to do in life. I can’t talk about goals enough!
