What it’s all about:
As women, we are often overwhelmed by the demands and circumstances of life, resulting in stress, fear, worry, impatience, fatigue, frustration, and even isolation and depression. The truth is that we were created to be overwhelmed, not by life, but by God! When we learn to be overwhelmed by God, the fruit in our lives goes from rotten to fragrant – filling our days with peace, hope, love, and joy.
In A Woman Overwhelmed, best-selling author Hayley DiMarco shares biblical insights and personal stories to offer a steady dose of comedy from her overwhelmed life while encouraging us to discover the depths and heights of God’s love and power.
About the author:
I. Loved. This. Book!
Women are overwhelmed with so many things in life – worry, faith, loss, doubt, rejection, finances, love, regret, and so, so much more. The problems that this book talks about are true for almost any woman, I would guess. I found myself thinking “Me too!” a lot as I read it.
It talks about topics like comparing ourselves to others, chasing perfection, our need for control, friendship, marriage, and other problems which overwhelm us. Hayley DiMarco talks about these things in such an engaging and entertaining way as well, even though she does get more serious at certain points.
There are also “Thoughts to Ponder” sections at the end of each chapter, which I thought was awesome. These sections help get you thinking and reflecting on your own life and how each chapter pertains to you.
The book helped me see some things about myself – and my life – in a new perspective. There were some things I was doing that I didn’t even realize were wrong and now I understand the reasons behind them.
You could even purchase Hayley’s Women’s Bible Study Participant Workbook if you’re interested in turning it into Bible study.
I really loved Hayley’s personality too! She’s so down to earth, relatable, and funny. I honestly feel like she’s someone I could be friends with if I knew her. She also comes off as real and raw, which is so refreshing. She even inspires me to be even more personal about myself, here on the blog.
If you’re a woman who is overwhelmed by pretty much anything in your life, and you want to learn how to replace your (negative) worldly overwhelm with the (positive) overwhelm of God, then I 100% recommend A Woman Overwhelmed to you!
