I remember when I was about 11 years old, I wanted to dye my hair so bad but my mom said I wasn’t old enough. Highlights were really popular and she decided to let me use SunIn so I could have highlights too. So, I’ve been a fan of SunIn for a while!
I dye my hair different colors a lot – from light blonde to dark purple. But I decided to give my hair a break for a while. The problem is that I have mousy brown hair and it can be boring, especially during summer!
So, I decided to try SunIn again for the first time in about 13 years!
What exactly is SunIn?
SunIn has actually been around since the ’90’s, so they’re the real deal. It’s a product that lightens your hair’s natural highlights when you apply heat. You don’t need to spend time in the sun to get the highlights – you can use a hair dryer. That means you can lighten your hair year round and not just in the summer. And it starts working after just one application!
SunIn is alcohol-free and it conditions your hair while it lightens. My hair gets damaged super easily so this is great news for me! It also works for blonde to medium-brown hair colors. (If you have really dark hair, it can give you reddish results!) Plus, I love that it is such an inexpensive alternative to salon visits. You can get great highlights for months and it costs less than $5!
How do you use SunIn?
SunIn is super easy to use. You just have to follow two easy steps:
- Spray it on damp hair. You can comb it through all of your hair to evenly distribute, or just spray onto the strands you want highlighted for a perfectly sun-streaked look.
- Either go out in the sun for a while or use a hair dryer to bring out the results.
My results with SunIn
Here’s a before and after photo to show you the results that I got with one application of SunIn. The results look so natural! As you can see, before I had a mousy brown color. After, my hair looks like it was naturally lightened by the sun. It did turn reddish, but I’m happy with the results. I can always use it a few more times for lighter hair if I want, but I’m happy with the results from just one use!
Where do you purchase it?
If you want to give SunIn a try and get perfect summer hair for less than $5, you can purchase it at Walmart!
