Happy Wednesday, friends! 🙂
I always love reading “What’s in my bag?” posts from other bloggers. I don’t know why, but seeing a little behind-the-scenes-ish glimpse into things is fun to me.
So, I thought it might also be fun to write a post like this!
I want to give a little disclaimer that I don’t spend a ton of money on makeup. I’ve just recently started getting better at doing my brows, different looks with eyeshadow, etc so I don’t spend a ton of money on those products at the moment. I’m mostly a drugstore makeup girl, so there aren’t many expensive products in this post haha.
But, here’s a look at what’s in my makeup bag right now!
I recently received this MAANGE makeup bag (gifted) and I’m loving it! It’s my favorite color and the size is perfect. It’s also perfect for travel because it keeps my makeup safe. Plus, it’s waterproof and scratch-resistant. If you’re looking for a cute, high-quality, and inexpensive makeup bag, this is it!
Primer + foundation:
I love bareMinerals’ Blemish Rescue foundation and primer. Not long ago, I went through a period of breaking out, so I started using this and it’s honestly made a difference. It has ingredients in it that are supposed to calm and clear acne breakouts and it does the job for me. It also provides a defense against bacteria, which is always a good thing. I definitely recommend!
I love Maybelline Fit Me concealer for two reasons. One, it’s super inexpensive. Two, I’m super prone to dark circles under my eyes and it does a great job of covering them! I’ve tried so many different concealers for under my eyes and this one is honestly my favorite so far. It works on any other skin blemishes too.
I’m currently using Tarte Amazonian Clay blush. I actually purchased the travel size to try it out and it might be one of the products that I end up paying more for. I’ve struggled with finding a good drugstore blush that lasts longer than like an hour on my face. If you know of one, let me know in the comments! 😉
Like I said before, I’ve recently started doing different eyeshadow looks and this is the palette I’ve been using to try out different ones. I didn’t want to buy an expensive palette while I’m just learning and trying new things haha. I really love shimmery eye shadow and I love blush so Maybelline Blushed Nudes palette was perfect. I don’t have anything else to compare it to, but it’s pretty good. I imagine that more expensive palettes would be more pigmented, though.
I usually use L’Oreal Super Slim eyeliner on my top lids but when I ran out I decided to try Nyx Epic Ink Liner. I think this is actually the first Nyx product that I’ve ever tried. I like it but I think I’m going to be going back to the Super Slim liner. When it comes to my bottom lid, I usually just use Maybelline Define-A-Line or COVERGIRL Perfect Point Plus. They both work well for me, haha.
Eyeliner has always been my favorite makeup item and it’s actually the one thing that I’ve tried from many expensive brands. Honestly, the products I use aren’t noticeably different than the more expensive brands, in my opinion. So I feel like there’s no reason to pay so much more money for the same quality.
Just recently, I purchased L.A. Colors Browie Wowie brow pencil because I wanted to try something new and I’m not the most creative person when it comes to brows haha. It was super inexpensive but I think I’m going to be back to using what I was before, which is L’oréal Brow Stylist Kabuki Blender. I really love the Kabuki Blender and I definitely recommend it to anyone looking for an easy, simple way to do their brows!
I’ve been using L’Oreal Voluminous mascara and Maybelline Lash Sensational mascara. I love the Lash Sensational and it might be my all-time favorite drugstore mascara. The Voluminous mascara is pretty good, but I think I’m going to be switching it up to something else when it runs out because it seems a little clumpy sometimes.
Lipstick is my other favorite makeup item and I have SO much. Nude lipstick is my favorite shade and this Mellow Cosmetics nude lipstick is one that I’ve been obsessed with for a while. I also love bright red lipstick and I received this Revlon Balm Stain as a gift so I’ve been using it a lot recently. I’ve also been loving this blush Burt’s Bees lipstick.
